A key advantage of the GBID is the time you gain: the finder can contact you right after finding your item – possibly before you’ve even noticed it was missing. And especially with keys or bank cards, that head start can be decisive, before you block cards or have locks changed.
With a single GBID you can mark everything you hold dear – from your keys and laptop to your luggage. You don’t need a separate identifier for each item. That saves money and spares you the hassle of managing many individual numbers.
The usual search via lost-and-found offices, the police or social networks is tedious and, sadly, very often fruitless. With a GBID you spare yourself that stress and can simply sit back. Because for marked items, finders too much prefer the quick, direct route via the GBID.
A USB stick with your best holiday photos, lost on the last day on a distant beach – without a GBID it would be gone for good. With a GBID you can hope for a message you’d never have thought possible: “I’ve found your USB stick…” Because the GBID knows no distance.
Both have their pros and cons: a tracker transmits actively, the GBID works passively. But the GBID scores on several fronts: it’s far cheaper, easy to attach anywhere – ideal for many items – and works entirely without a battery. So even after years it’s still 100% ready to go. That’s why we use a GPS tracker ourselves – with a GBID attached to its protective case.
We’re often asked why we don’t sell ready-made products such as key fobs or luggage straps with the GLOBALBACK-ID. The answer is simple: the GLOBALBACK-ID is a service – not a tag, not a sticker and not a business card.
For you that brings a big advantage: the freedom to mark your belongings however you like. Engraved on your favourite key fob, on your luggage, as a little card in your wallet, handbag or clothing, as a sticker on your camera gear – or, at no cost at all, as a digital lock screen on your smartphone, tablet and laptop.
Use the GLOBALBACK-ID as a QR code for a quick scan, as text that’s easy to read – or combine both. Much of it you can create yourself: quickly, cheaply and to your own taste. And anyone who’d rather have something ready-made will find a suitable option online for almost any purpose.

And the benefit goes further still: through our affiliated check portals, the status of your registered items can be looked up publicly – so the GB-Cloud can keep buyers from purchasing stolen goods or misappropriated lost property, and can also assist law enforcement. And all of this at a point when you may not even have noticed yet that something is lost or has been stolen.

Your digital inventory: at hand anywhere, anytime
Just as you should mark your smartphone with a GBID, you should also store it in the GB-Cloud. Access to the GLOBALBACK-Cloud is only possible with a GBID registered at GLOBALBACK. Your benefits at a glance, using your smartphone as an example:
Store all the important details such as the serial number, the IMEI numbers and, optionally, further information such as the purchase price, purchase date and seller of your smartphone, and give it a status right when you register it (Lost, Stolen, Not for sale, For sale).
Whether you buy or sell a smartphone, whether you lose it or it gets stolen – you can add, edit or delete entries quickly and easily. When sold, the entire entry can be transferred between GBID holders to the new owner with a single click.
If something happens and you need to file an insurance claim or a police report, you have access to all the relevant data worldwide, 24/7.
Or if the device is faulty and you want to know whether it’s still under warranty: a glance at the GB-Cloud is faster and easier than searching folders for the receipt. If needed, you can also print out your entry.
Once registered in the GB-Cloud, your smartphone can be looked up worldwide by its serial number and IMEI number – via sites such as seriennummern-check.de, ebike-check.online, checkmich.online and checkme.website. Should you lose your smartphone, or should it be stolen and offered for sale, any potential buyer can see that it’s registered as lost or stolen – and contact you directly, either by phone or via a contact form. And all of this at a point when you may not even have noticed the loss yourself.
With the GB-Cloud we extend the GLOBALBACK service beyond the GBID.
Besides your smartphone, you can of course register any item in the GB-Cloud that can be identified by a manufacturer-assigned identification number (serial number, frame number, engine number, IMEI number, etc.).
Unrestricted access to the GB-Cloud is granted only to registered GBID holders with an active account at GLOBALBACK.

A GLOBALBACK-ID includes the issuing of your personal GLOBALBACK-ID, its storage in our system for three years, and full access to the GLOBALBACK-Cloud.
Payment note: to ensure smooth processing, goods are dispatched exclusively after advance payment, by bank transfer or PayPal.
In good time before the 3 years are up, we’ll send you an offer to renew for another 3 years (again €10.95 for one GBID, or €21.90 if you chose our 3-for-2 offer). Would you like to renew? Simply transfer the amount – and your protection continues. Don’t want to renew? Then simply do nothing. There’s no need to cancel. After expiry, your account (including the GLOBALBACK-Cloud) is automatically and permanently deleted. Reactivating it later is then no longer possible.
Of course you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. You can declare your withdrawal at any time, conveniently online via our withdrawal button – with no reason required.
